# Hakanai Pulse

> Pulse (https://pulse.hakanai.io) is a web analytics product for blogs. It measures what happens on each article (views, visits, reading time, clicks, referrers) with a cookie-free script that needs no consent banner, and it adds SEO diagnostics and Google Search Console rankings for every tracked page. It is built for people who publish content rather than for product teams.

Key facts:
- Installation is a single script tag in the page head, on any site whatever generates it. Static site generators, WordPress and Ghost are covered in the Docs section below.
- No cookies and no persistent storage: session storage only, cleared when the browser closes. No IP address stored, no visitor profile, no tracking across sites. Compliant with GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive, CCPA and PECR, and no cookie banner is required.
- Content metrics per article: views, visits, reading time, clicks, comparison between periods, and outlier detection to surface the posts that behave differently from the rest.
- Audience metrics: traffic sources, geographic distribution, browsers and devices, and session detail listing the pages, clicks and events of a single visit.
- Yearly insights: top and emerging referrers, content breakdown, traffic evolution, and a split between ephemeral and evergreen posts.
- Custom events and link tracking are available for anything page views do not cover.
- Known bots are filtered out of the data, so the numbers describe human visitors.
- Scout, the built-in SEO module, scores every tracked page on content, social, linking and technical factors, with issues ranked by priority and no extra setup.
- Connecting a Google Search Console property (read-only) brings the queries, impressions, click-through rate and average position of each post into the dashboards, with 16 months of history imported and a nightly refresh. Paid plans only.
